Johan Schwartz, instructor BMW Performance Driving School, a stabilit un nou record mondial la capitolul drifturi cu BMW M5, realizand performanta de a face drifturi pe o distanta de 82.5 km – 322.5 ture, la sediul BMW Performance Center.
Din spusele instructorului, tinta initiala era de 64 km, dar apoi s-a gandit sa mearga pana la 80 km si pana la final distanta parcursa a fost de 82.5 km.
Recordul mondial a fost stabilit pentru un drift continuu, fara schimbare de pneuri. Pneurile utilizate au fost unele Continental Sports Contacts cu dimensiuni de 255/30/20 pe puntea fata si 295/30/20 pe puntea spate.
Modelul de pe skidpad a fost un BMW M5 F10 standard, fara nicio imbunatatire.
